Hackers and criminals today are targeting vulnerabilities in web applications and web services more than operating systems and computer networks. These vulnerabilities can be exploited to obtain confidential information, penetrate networks and compromise organizational integrity. As a result, organizations must integrate robust security measures into the web application development process.

Topics presented include identification, analysis and correction of the most serious web application vulnerabilities, detecting unauthorized file system modification, secure configuration of application servers, security of XML Web Services with WS-Security and auditing web application security with source code and application scanning.
